If you think Walt Disney World is fun, you should see their festivals! I just returned from the annual International Arts Festival in Epcot, which I absolutely loved. Having been to the first IAF in 2017, I couldn’t wait to go back. I found a plethora of food and drink offerings and that many more photo ops—which make for great pictures and people watching. The biggest draw for me to Walt Disney World's festivals is always the food, and IAF was no exception! Here is my list of“be sure to taste this!” treats at IAF 2019.
1. Frida Lychee Margarita in Mexico
Sweet and smooth, this Margarita from El Artista Hambriento was delicious and refreshing! It’s the best way to either start or end your night—or both!
2. Spiced Beef in Morroco—to DIE for!
Spiced beef with dried cherries and pine nuts, served with hummus and pita chips, was my favorite snack we had during our stay. This was so good that we returned a second day for more. I loved to stir mine together and scoop it onto my chips, while Denise ate hers layer by layer. Either way, it was a filling and tasty treat! I will definitely be trying to recreate this one at home.
3. Sushi Donut in Japan From Takumi Table,
this plate of fresh fish was a very delicious and very cute sushi sampler—so kawaii!
4. Moelleux Aux Chocolats Valrhona in France
Talk about decadence. This chocolate cake filled with a molten center and laced with artful designs of raspberry, pineapple and orange sauces made the plate a feast for both the taste buds and the eyes.
5. Barbabietole Dolci, Caprino Fritto in Italy
Wow. This was SO good! The tartness of the beets juxtaposed with the goat cheese fritters made for a surprisingly delicious combination and a fun take on Italian that was more than just pasta. This is another dish I would love to serve at home!
6. Almond Frangipane Cake at Pop Eats!
Pop Eats offered so many yummy-looking options, but I finally had to settle on the Mondrian-inspired cake—and I'm so glad I did! Dense almond cake with layers of zippy raspberry jam, topped with a thin layer of ganache, was the perfect dessert, if you ask me!
This trip was so much fun. I can’t wait to tell you about all the other things I did! Have you been to The International Festival of the Arts this year? Let me know what your favorite food and drinks were in the comments below!
