Coco's Time at the Happiest Place on Earth!

When you begin to plan a trip, what do you consider first?  Flights?  Hotels?   Well, I start with "What am I going to wear?"  This held true when my friend and I decided to take a girls trip to The Happiest Place on Earth.  Yes, Walt Disney World!   A trip to Disney World means tons of photos so you need to be your cutest for Castle selfies, purple wall pics and those Photopass photographers - who are everywhere you turn!    While there, you never know who you are going to run into, so one must dress to impress, right?  Since packing the right items are so important here are my recommendations for accessories that should make the trip! I've also shared a few highlights from my trip!

Cute Accessories:  Cute accessories are key to any outfit, especially at Disney World!  At Coco and Duckie, our philosophy on jewelry + accessories is to curate unique pieces that speak to you.  Then, when you wear these pieces, you will be happy and your jewelry box will be a reflection of your passions and personality. So, for the early morning flight to Orlando, my N2 Tinker Bell Earrings brought my casual look (Disney World T-Shirt and skirt) to another level!  You will find everything that would fit right in to your favorite Disney Park in my Coco's Picks Collection.  You will see a lot of N2 because it is the obvious choice for park styling.  There are beautiful pieces inspired by fairy tales including Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and Peter Pan.  The only difficult part will be deciding WHICH piece to wear.  On one day at Magic Kingdom, I wore the "Happy Endings" Snow White necklace, and I happened to bump into Snow White that day. She loved my necklace and I told her about my Hi-Ho Earrings.  She thought I should wear them together so all 7 of her little friends can be around for the fun!

Perfume + Lotion: Perfume Crema's are a great choice for traveling in general, no worries about them being crushed or broken in your luggage, plus they moisturize your skin and have a long lasting fragrance!  I brought along Library of Flower's Linden, a sweet, unassuming floral fragrance which was just the perfect for the trip. At Disney World, I added a tube of Cottage Greenhouse's Cucumber and Honey lotion in my purse and I want you to know - IT IS THE BEST!  The fragrance is wonderfully light.  The sweetness of the honey meshed with the freshness of the cucumber is so, so, so good!  Not too crisp and not saccharine.  This was a hand-saver, keeping me from feeling dry in the crisp January air and without clashing with the Linden perfume crema I was wearing. This is a great travel lotion!!

Ears: Remember what I said about curating jewelry and accessories?  Well, that goes for Ears too. There are so many cute options for custom ears today!  A quick search on Etsy will yield choices for just about any look or theme you can imagine.   My friend, Britt, sells the cutest Ears I've seen.  If you know me, you know I love to sparkle, so her "Make It Blue" ears were a perfect choice!  She also made a custom pair of black and white sequined Ears for me – so they would go with everything! Check her on Instagram to see all of her adorable designs!

My Park Highlights

Hollywood Studios:  My favorite park.  This park is a perfectly designed backdrop for dressing with some vintage flair. I loved walking into Hollywood Studios with all the Art Deco inspiration; it made me so happy!  I would love to move Coco and Duckie HQ into one of those storefronts! It was easy to accessorize for this Park.

I chose my Rook & Crow Galileo necklace because it's a "Hidden" Mickey!  What could be more Disney than that?  My favorite ride in this park is The Great Movie Ride, having been a cinephile since before I could spell the word, everything about this ride speaks to me - from walking into The Chinese Theatre to listening to Robert Osborne guide us through the different films on the ride!

Animal Kingdom:  My favorite park! It was my first visit to Animal Kingdom, and the Tree of Life is AMAZING!

I wore the N2 Tiger necklace and earrings because tigers are obviously a part of the Animal Kingdom.

One of the things that I like about All-Things-Disney is the attention paid to the details!  If you love little details, I think Animal Kingdom is the park for you. Dinoland, U.S.A. was so fun; and The Parking Lot Carnival is too adorable.  Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures is the CUTEST shop in all of Disney World! There are toy dinosaurs suspended from the ceiling and lining the ledges around the ceiling! I couldn't even shop, I was so busy looking up at all the cuteness!  Next trip, I definitely want to theme my outfit for Dinoland!   Coco's Tip:  Be sure to see Finding Nemo: The Musical.  It is beautiful, touching and funny – this was my most favorite attraction at Animal Kingdom.

Epcot:  My favorite (this is a recurring theme)!

I love Epcot – everything is there – Space, The Seas and the International Pavilions!  During my visit, the International Festival of the Arts was open and I was thrilled to see the Mary Blair exhibit.

She is my all-time favorite artist – but that is a blog post for later! Seeing pieces from The Good Will Tour was incredibly special and I'm so glad my trip coincided with this art event!

Coco's Tips:  Favorite drink: "Tipsy Ducks in Love" at The Joy of Tea in China's Pavilion (for those over 21 ;).  Coffee, chocolate & whiskey...what more could you want/need?

Favorite restaurant: Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco. The food is delicious and the decor is beautiful!

Magic Kingdom:  MY VERY FAVORITE.   While there, I saw Cinderella and she loved my outfit and thought I looked so put together, she asked if I had been assisted by Little Bird Helpers.   I thanked her (what a compliment!) and told her I didn't have any Bird Helpers, but I realized what an asset that would be!  So, if anyone knows of any little birds looking for employment, please ask them to get in touch with me! Contact: coco@cocoandduckie.com and put ATTN:  Avian Assistant Stylist Position in the header.

Coco's Favorites: 1. It's A Small World (I told you I love Mary Blair) 2. Space Ranger Spin (I GOT GALACTIC HERO! You're welcome, Galaxy) and 3. The Enchanted Tiki Room (I don't think the song has left my head since!)

Coco's Claim to Fame:  Be sure to go to Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor.

While I was there, Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor used the joke I submitted!! YES! I am now a credited comedy writer and I've checked this off my bucket list! What? You want to know the joke? Well, ok, but I hate to brag!

Q:  What did Woody say to Buzz?                                                                                                                             A:  A lot. There were 3 movies.

Yes, yes, thank you!  Please, hold your applause until the end of the blog post.

So, as you can tell, I enjoyed my trip to Disney World.  I know I am not alone when I say that Disney World is one of my favorite places on Earth.
