Adventures in Touristing
The Sacré Cœur and Montmartre Edition
One unexpectedly warm and sunny afternoon Jess and I trekked up to Paris's highest point, Sacré Cœur! The lawns were lovely and speckled with loungers, picnickers and bookworms! We joined them for a bit before reaching the basilica at the top.
After the long walk up to the basilica we were in need of a little pick me up, we found the most delicious cafe creme and creme brûlée in Montmartre! Taking a cue from one of my favorite movies ( Amélie ) I took special care when cracking the hard caramel top!
she cultivates a taste for small pleasures: dipping her hand into sacks of grain, cracking creme brulee with a teaspoon, and skipping stones at St. Martin’s canal.”
- Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain
Some of the things we found while exploring....
Across the street from our little rose cafe there was a mobil art gallery, it was adorable....as was it's owner/artist.
A house covered in vines, another artist with very painted pants, delicious tartare de bœuf, and a really good view!
Have you had an adventure this summer? Tell me about it!
