Check Out the Austin County Fair in Bellville

Are you looking for something fun to do? The Austin County Fair and PRCA Rodeo is right around the corner. If you haven't been to it before, you'll discover five days filled with music, livestock shows, rodeo events, a calf scramble, pet show and other contests. The 87th annual event will be held at the fairgrounds on Highway 159 East in Bellville, Texas. It runs from Wednesday, Oct. 8 through Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014.

Getting Started

Several preliminary events will take place on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Agricultural mechanics projects, trail riders, pageant contests, steer roping, swine judging, a country store and a carnival get things started. The Route 4 Band will play at 7 p.m.

Parade

The fair officially kicks off with the 87th Annual Austin County Fair Parade on Thursday at 10 a.m. This year's theme is "Horsin' Around at the Austin County Fair." The parade route will wind around the Bellville square before heading down Highway 159 to the fairgrounds.

Daily Events

Exciting activities abound at the fair. Daily events include judging of livestock such as goats, lambs, horses and swine. Other contests include wine, photos, a stick horse rodeo, bean bag tournament and a tractor pull.

Music and Entertainment

Bands performing at the fair include Johnny Lee, Easy Money, Turnpike Troubadours, Daryle Singletary and country music legend Ronnie Milsap. Michael Mezmer will dazzle audiences daily with his comedy hypnosis show.
